Distorted Humor colt brings $850,000 at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic

Tuesday was another banner day in the sales ring for Distorted Humor when a colt by the champion sire brought a winning bid of $850,000 during the second day of the May 22-23 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale.

Eddie Woods consigned the colt, hip No. 490, which wound up being the second-highest offering to pass through the ring of the two-day auction.

Simon Callaghan, trainer, was the winning bidder.

“He has a stallion’s pedigree, a great physical and is a really well-balanced colt,” Callaghan summed up. “I thought he ticked all the boxes.”

The bay colt’s dam is the stakes-winning Lemon Drop Kid mare Lemon Kiss, also the dam of Gulfstream Park Turf H. (G1) winner Lochte. Lemon Kiss is a half-sister to multiple graded winner Kiss the Kid, while their dam is a half to Horse of the Year Black Tie Affair.

Distorted Humor’s runners continue to produce at the highest level in 2017, including New Orleans H. (G2) winner Honorable Duty and top 3-year-old stakes horse Sonic Mule.
