Perennial leading international sire More Than Ready recently sired his 150th black type winner, which ranks the WinStar stallion second only to Giant’s Causeway for all stallions standing in North America.
More Than Ready is the sire of nine millionaires, with his overall progeny earnings approaching an incredible $130 million. He has been in the top 15 on the North American General Sire list three times in the past five years.
To date, More Than Ready has sire five champions and three Breeders’ Cup Race winners. His progeny have won graded races on all surfaces, typified recently by Partisan Politics (swift winner of Belmont Park’s Pebbles S. on the grass) and Daredevil (who won the Grade 1 Champagne S.). The latter will join his sire in stud duties at WinStar Farm in 2016.
WinStar recently announced that More Than Ready’s stud fee will by $50,000 live foal, stands and nurses, for the 2016 breeding season.
