Roy H wins second straight Male Champion Sprinter Eclipse Award

More Than Ready’s brilliant son Roy H collected his second award as Champion Male Sprinter on Thursday evening at the Eclipse Award Ceremony. He is the first horse to win the award back-to-back since Housebuster in 1990-91.

His 2018 season was capped off with a dominating 3 1/4-length win in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) at Churchill Downs, his second straight win in that event as well. Earlier in the year, he collected victories in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship (G1) and Palos Verdes S. (G2).

Bred in Kentucky by Ramona Bass, Roy H is campaigned by Rockingham Ranch and David Bernsen. Trained by Peter Miller, Roy H started his 2019 campaign on Jan. 19 with another win in the Palos Verdes, upping his lifetime earnings to $3,139,765.

Roy H is one of More Than Ready’s six worldwide champions. The venerable WinStar stallion has sired 190 stakes winners around the globe. His runners earned $11.3 million in 2018, with graded stakes winners More Than Words, Uni (GB), Rushing Fall, Catholic Boy, Funtastic and Sir Truebadour.
