Summer House first stakes winner of 2018 for Tiznow

WinStar Farm’s champion sire Tiznow got his first stakes winner of the new year on Jan. 12 when Summer House took the El Dorado S. at Delta Downs on Jan. 12 by just over a length.

Stakes-placed three times last year, Summer House earned her first black type with a 1 1/4-length win in the five-furlong El Dorado, covering the distance in :59.10 on a fast track.

The winner is owned by M and M Racing and now sports a record of 7-4-3 in 23 starts with earnings of $321,556. Bred by WinStar Farm, she is out of stakes winner Mimi’s Bling, who is a half-sister to multiple graded winner Custom for Carlos.

Tiznow closed out 2017 with $7.2 million in progeny earnings and crossed the $80 million lifetime mark last year as well. His $2.45 million sales-topper at the OBS April Sale was the top-priced 2-year-old of 2017.
