Tiznow juvenile scores at the Spa

Strong Mandate, a well-bred $200,000 Keeneland September Yearling sale grad by Tiznow, rolled to an authoritative 4 1/2-length victory Saturday in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight contest at Saratoga (VIDEO).

The bay colt, owned by Robert Baker and William Mack, completed a 1-3 finish for Tiznow 2-year-olds in the main track affair. Strong Mandate to the field gate to wire, stopping the timer in 1:16.23, while Rebranded, a $350,000 Fasig-Tipton Florida sale grad from this March who was making his debut, rallied to be third.

Strong Mandate, bred in Kentucky by G. Watts Humphrey, is out of Watt’s triple-Grade 1 millionaire mare Clear Mandate. The colt is a half-brother to two-time Grade 3 winner Newfoundland and the stakes winner Full Mandate.
