WinStar training and sales grad Pinball drew off to a sharp-looking 3 1/2-length victory Thursday at Aqueduct in the 2013 debut for the 4-year-old colt.
Pinball, by Unbridled’s Song out of the Landaluce S. winner Pinata, was prepped and sold by WinStar Racing, agent, at the 2012 Keeneland November sale. The winning bid of $185,000 came from Jane Buchanan, agent for Michael Dubb, who co-owns the gray or roan colt with Bethlehem Stables LLC, Gary Aisquith, and Stuart Grant.
Pinball was well-spotted in second for the first six furlongs of the 1 mile and 70 yard maiden special weight contest, then battled briefly with the pacesetter Cousin Michael, before pulling clear for a comfortable win.
The victory was worth $33,000 to Pinball’s owners, pushing his lifetime mark to $63,300. He has hit the board in all four of his lifetime starts.
