$1.1 million More Than Ready colt at Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale

Wednesday’s Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale kicked off the 2-year-old auction season with three seven-figure horses, including a $1.1 million colt by leading international sire More Than Ready.

Consigned by Cary Frommer, Agent and cataloged as hip No. 156, the colt was purchased by Lawrence Best’s OXO Equine.

“I think they were standouts in the sale, (and he was one of them),” said Frommer, who is based in Aiken, S.C., and buys and sells in partnership with Barry Berkelhammer.

Bred in Kentucky by Gunpowder Farms, the colt was bought by Frommer for $235,000 from the Allied Bloodstock lot at last year’s Fasig-Tipton July sale. The colt’s stakes-winning dam, Tensas Punch, is a daughter of War Front and comes from the same family as CashCall Futurity (G1) winner Liaison.
