Bodemeister 2YO breezes by 6 ½ in debut

Obvious One was a conspicuous winner in his debut Monday at Thistledown, cruising by 6 1/2-lengths in the career bow for the 2-year-old son of Bodemeister.

Bred in Kentucky by Classic Thoroughbred and owned by Jason DaCosta, Obvious One is the fifth winner for his freshman sire. All five have taken maiden special weights, with Bode’s Dream going on to win the $200,000 Astoria S. and Royal Copy finishing second in the Hopeful S. (G1).

Obvious One is is the second foal out of Princess Cecilia, a three-time stakes winning daughter of Empire Maker.
