Constitution filly gets first graded win in Santa Anita's Sweet Life S. (G3)
Sunday, February 16, 2020
Laura's Light won her first graded stakes in her young career Feb. 16 at Santa Anita Park with a three-quarter length victory in the $100,000 Sweet Life S. (G3).

The 3-year-old Constitution filly won the Blue Norther S. in late December and ran second in the Jimmy Durante S. (G3) last November. Owned by Gary Barber, she is now 3-1-0 in four starts and has earned $147,320.

Laura's Light was content to settle behind a dueling frontrunners early on, then made her move for the lead entering the turn. She was on even terms with Lighthouse until the final sixteenth, when she edged clear to get the 5 1/2-furlongs on the firm turf in 1:02.90.

Pedigree Notes from the TDN:

Bred by Golden Pedigree LLC, Laura's Light is one of five stakes winners for red-hot second-crop sire Constitution, Laura's Light now joins the other four in picking up a graded stakes tally of her own. She is the second black-type winner out of her stakes-placed dam Light of a Star, following up TDN Rising Star Barry Lee. Light of a Star, a 12-time winner in 26 career outings, is a half-sister to MGSW Summer Hit and MSW Starbird Road.
