Constitution filly gets first graded win in Santa Anita’s Sweet Life S. (G3)

Laura’s Light won her first graded stakes in her young career Feb. 16 at Santa Anita Park with a three-quarter length victory in the $100,000 Sweet Life S. (G3).

The 3-year-old Constitution filly won the Blue Norther S. in late December and ran second in the Jimmy Durante S. (G3) last November. Owned by Gary Barber, she is now 3-1-0 in four starts and has earned $147,320.

Laura’s Light was content to settle behind a dueling frontrunners early on, then made her move for the lead entering the turn. She was on even terms with Lighthouse until the final sixteenth, when she edged clear to get the 5 1/2-furlongs on the firm turf in 1:02.90.
