Conjuring sped to a 2 3/4-length maiden special weight victory on Thursday at Belterra Park in southern Ohio to become the sixth winner for first-crop sire Gemologist.
All six of the WinStar stallion’s winners have come in maiden special weight company, including TDN Rising Star Theory as one of two at Saratoga, and one at Del Mar.
Conjuring was in the lead all the way of the five furlong contest despite getting bumped around at the break, ultimately coming home under a hand ride.
Conjuring, a half-sister to a pair of stakes-placed winners, was bred by Langsem Farm and is out of the stakes winner Conjuress, whose siblings in multiple black-type winner Unbridled Time.
