Market Bubble scores at Belmont as first winner for Fed Biz

WinStar Farm’s multiple graded stakes winner and track record-setter Fed Biz had his first winner on June 30 at Belmont Park when Market Bubble tallied a half-length maiden special weight win in a six-furlong turf contest for 2-year-olds.

The bay colt, making his debut for trainer Alan Goldberg and owner Colts Neck Stables LLC, tracked in third through the first half-mile, then ranged up five-wide in upper stretch to start his move for the lead. Still four lengths from the front with a furlong to run, he hit his best stride in deep stretch to strike the front just a few jumps from the wire.

Market Bubble covered the final quarter-mile in a very quick :22.71 and stopped the timer in 1:09.90 on the firm turf.

Bred in New York by Gallagher’s Stud, Market Bubble is the latest foal out of Tulipmania, who foaled a Malibu Moon filly in 2017 and produced a Giant’s Causeway filly this year. A $185,000 graduate of the 2016 Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale, Market Bubble was a $375,000 graduate of this year’s OBS March sale. Tulipmania comes from the same female family as champion Take Charge Lady and multiple graded stakes winner Straight Story.

Fed Biz was a winner all four years he raced, including victories in the San Diego H. (G2) and Pat O’Brien S. (G2), the latter when he beat two-time Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Goldencents. He retired to stud at WinStar in 2015. For more information about Fed Biz, please contact Liam O’Rourke or Sean Tugel at 859-873-1717, or visit winstarfarm.com.
