More Than Ready filly gets first stakes win in 2020 debut

Winning Envelope went from last to first in the final quarter-mile of the Jersey Lilly Turf S. Jan. 26 at Sam Houston Race Park to give the 4-year-old More Than Ready filly her first stakes win (VIDEO).

Owned by Lothenbach Stables, Winning Envelope was stakes-placed twice last year and is now 4-0-2 in 13 starts and has earned $198,258. She is More Than Ready's first stakes winner and fourth stakes horse during the first month of this year.

Winning Envelope sat near the back of the pack for the first six furlongs before advancing along the inside, the made a bold move splitting horses in upper stretch to swing wider and rush to the front in the final furlong, winning by 3 1/4-lengths in 1:45.15 for the 1 1/16-miles on the “good” turf.

Winning Envelope was bred by Ramspring Farm and is from the family of graded stakes winner Lily Capote.
