Speightster gets 10th winner in his debut at Aqueduct

Return the Ring led from start to finish in his career bow Saturday at Aqueduct, winning the six-furlong contest by 1 3/4-lengths.

The 2-year-old colt gave Speightster is 10th First-Crop winner. Speightster is one of four WinStar freshman sires in the top 10 on the First-Crop sire list, along with Laoban, Exaggerator and Outwork.

Return the Ring, owned by Iris Smith Stable, covered the six furlongs in 1:11.84 on a fast main track.

The winner was bred by Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGinnes and is out of the stakes-winning mare Fancy Diamond. Return the Ring sold to his owner for $130,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-old sale in June.
