Tiznow filly takes ‘flight’ in debut

Fantasy of Flight, Tiznow’s most expensive yearling to sell at market in 2009, showed the potential that made her a $725,000 purchase two years ago, rolling to an eye-catching debut victory in the finale on Kentucky Oaks Day at Churchill (VIDEO).

The grand-looking bay filly broke sharply and immediately gave an indication of her quality, pressing a fast early pace with ease before taking command in the stretch of the six-furlong Maiden Special Weight affair. Fantasy of Flight kicked clear of her rivals to score a stylish 4 ¾-length win and give a strong hint as to her bright future to come. The final time was a brisk 1:09 2/5 over a fast track, and her solid gallop-out figures to set her up well to stretch out.

Trained by John Terranova, Fantasy of Flight hails from the stakes-winning Rubiano mare Positive Energy. She is campaigned by owners IEAH Stables, which acquired the filly for that large tag at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale.
