Tiznow's hip No. 90 sold for $675,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling sale
Tiznow's excellent sales results during the first session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale on Monday afternoon included three lots that brought at least a half-million dollars.
The Hall of Fame champion sire had an average of $400,000 for five lots sold.
Topping the day for the WinStar stallion was hip No. 90, consigned by Taylor Made Sales agency, that went to Lane's End for $675,000. The colt, named Tiz Bob, is out of Grade 1-placed Temple Street, is a full brother to multiple graded stakes-placed Donworth.
Hip No. 146 brought a winning bid of $575,000 from William Nack and Robert Baker. Consigned by Woods Edge Farm, the dark bay colt is out of Wynning Ride, a stakes winner that was also Grade 1-placed.
Upson Downs Farm, agent, consigned hip No. 87, a colt that went for $500,000 to Courtlandt Farm. The dark bay Kentucky-bred is out of the top-class race mare Tar Heel Mom, a multiple graded stakes winner whose first foal, a e-year-old colt by Distorted Humor named Vorticity, won the Marylander S. and is twice Grade 3-placed.
Tiznow has a total of 64 remaining lots cataloged in the sale, which runs through Sept. 25.
