Carpe Diem’s Wait for Nairobi wins Cincinnati Trophy in stakes debut

Wait for Nairobi made her stakes debut a winning one Friday evening at Turfway Park, winning the $65,000 Cincinnati Trophy S. by two lengths for the owner/breeder duo of Hartwell Fam and SF Racing LLC.

Wait for Nairobi is the fourth stakes horse this year for Carpe Diem, which ranks third among all Third-Crop sires for 2021.

After breaking from post seven, Wait for Nairobi got a three-wide trip for all of the 6 1/2-furlongs. She steadily advanced from seventh to third on the turn, and was head-to-head for the lead at the top of the stretch. She battled with Igloo for about a furlong before pulling clear to secure the win.
